WhatsApp new update has been released to bar unnecessary addition to groups in its application. The Whatsapp new update will stop users from being added to unconsented WhatsApp Groups.

Before now, users raised issues on been added to strange groups without permission. These groups not only constitute a nuisance for the users but also create an avenue for hackers to siphon user’s information. Thus, these concerns spurred the new update by the messaging app.

The update works on both Android and iOS devices and will allow users to give consent to people he/she wants to add to any group.

Interested users can access the update by navigating to privacy settings on the app to select who can add them to a group, automatically. The 3 options on who can add a user to a group include – Everyone, My Contacts, or My Contacts Except (name specified).

WhatsApp also updated its app to include an icon for Netflix users. The icon allows Netflix users who have iPhones to watch their favourite movies on the app.
