APPLY FOR THE SINGULARITY U GLOBAL IMPACT CHALLENGE IN WEST AFRICA

ARE YOU A WEST AFRICAN TECH-ENTREPRENEUR?: APPLY TODAY

Do you have an idea for a ground-breaking project in the technology industry? Are you a resident or a citizen of a West African country? Well then you are eligible to apply for the upcoming SingularityU Global Impact Challenge in West Africa.

The challenge will is being hosted by Ghana’s Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) and Singularity University (SU). It aims to promote the development of moonshots, that is startups in the tech industry that are innovating or ground-breaking. These startups must be scalable and be able to impact a billion people worldwide in 10 years. This year’s contest is particularly interested in inventions that address climate change and its related challenges. This notwithstanding, other ideas that are highly innovative will still be taken into consideration.

MEST is a school in Ghana, started in 2008, that provides training, investment and mentoring for entrepreneurial aspirants in the tech industry. SU is a California-based university that also specializes in entrepreneurial training.

Applications for the contest close by April 3, 2017. The winner will be unveiled on the 24th of April. This will winner will participate in the Global Solutions Program (GSP), a 9 week immersive experience at SU’s campus at the NASA Research Park in Mountain View (in California) for free. The GSP will run from June 17th to August 17th. The winner will be expected  to develop their project in their hoe country after completing the program.

If you are a tech-entrepreneur with a cool new idea, apply today. All semi-finalists and finalists will participate in an Innovation Workshop and Pitch event in Lagos, Nigeria where the winner will be announced.
