Alibaba Business School and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) has called on digital innovators based in Botswana, Cameroon, Chad, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda to apply for Class 5 of the eFounders Fellowship. The eFounders Fellowship provides first-hand exposure to ecommerce and digital innovations, access to business leaders across Alibaba and China, as well as an opportunity to connect with like-minded, leading entrepreneurs in their region.
The eFounders Fellowship program is jointly organized by Alibaba Business School and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). It was created in 2017 with an aim to render opportunities for African youths, and also businesses to participate in global trade and raise awareness of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by Alibaba founder Jack Ma.

Applicants who intend to apply for the Class 5 eFounder Fellowship must be co-founders or founders of digital ventures that have been in operation for at least two years. The fellowship’s organizers also encourage women and entrepreneurs under 40 to apply.
Participants will learn some of the key factors behind Alibaba’s long-term success, including the defining moments and failures that have helped shape its development. All those selected for the fellowship will gain an understanding of Alibaba’s ecosystem.
Applications for Class 5 of the eFounders Fellowship will close on 17 March.
