These trades may perhaps give Amazon a prospect to surpass its holiday season sales, which did not go down well with investors after its last profits report. Although they haven’t disclosed the revenue generated from the holiday sales, this means investors will have to pause for Amazon’s fourth-quarter incomes to know the impact of the sales.

According to CNBC, Amazon had projected torpid to minimal growth in operating income compared with the same time in 2017, which sent its stock dropping to 10 percent when it reported its third-quarter earnings. It projected $2.1 billion to $3.6 billion in operating income for the fourth quarter of 2018, falling short of analyst expectations of $3.9 billion. Amazon made $2.1 billion during the same quarter in 2017.

The company said people used Amazon’s voice assistant, and Alexa for shopping three times as much as last year. On Wednesday, Alexa was the most popular app in the U.S on Apple’s App store, this means that lots of devices were likely activated on Christmas Day.
