Flutterwave, Carbon, 54gene and other African startups have won awards from the 2019 AppsAfrica Innovation Awards.
The AppsAfrica Innovation Awards aims to honor Africa’s best mobile and tech services from corporates and startups. The 2019 edition attracted over 400 entries from 52 countries across Africa.
The 5th edition saw 14 products emerge winners from across four African countries; Nigeria, Angola, Kenya, and South Africa. They include;

· Flutterwave (Nigeria) for ‘Changing Africa Award’
· Carbon (OneFi) (Nigeria) for ‘Best Fintech Solution’
· Lightsail Education for Educational E-Reader (South Africa) ‘Best Edtech Solution’
· Idea Digital Education (South Africa) for ‘Social Impact Award’
· Appy Saúde (Angola) for ‘Best African App’
· Brck for Moja (Kenya) for ‘Disruptive Innovative Award’
· 54gene (Nigeria) for ‘Best Healthtech Solution’
· PM Connect for ‘Best Enterprise Solution’
· Aerobotics for Aeroview in InField (South Africa) for ‘Best Agritech Solution’
· Carry1st (South Africa) for ‘Best News and Entertainment Solution’
· RippleNami (Kenya) for ‘Best Blockchain Solution’
· Liquid Telecom (Kenya) for ‘Best Internet of Things (IoT) Solution’
· Lori Systems (Kenya) for ‘Best Mobility Solution’
· One Kiosk Africa (Nigeria) for ‘Best mCommerce Solution’

According to AppsAfrica founder Andrew Fassnidge, the awards provide a level ground for beginners to compete against big corporates.

In his words; “Congratulations to all the winners we look forward to having them all join us at Africa Tech Summit in Rwanda next year, and a special word of thanks to all entrants, our expert judging panel, sponsors and supporting partners across Africa who help each year.”

All-Winners have been invited to the Africa Tech Summit, Kigali 2020. At the event, they will have access to sponsorships and partnerships from across the world and Africa. the event will feature; the Money and Blockchain Summit, the Future Summit and the Africa Startup Summit.
