Yassir: Algeria’s answer to Uber

Yassir Algeria’s answer to Uber Techgist

First came Uber and now many countries around the world are establishing new taxi businesses of their own. Algeria has Yassir the new taxi service that allows you to move to places efficiently.

Engineer and former Intel Corporation researcher Noureddine Tayebi developed Yassir; Algeria’s new taxi app just like Uber allows users to find cab drivers near them directly and cheaply.

Yassir will be first launched in El Biar Benaknoun, Cheraga, Dely Ibrahim, Ouled Fayet, Birmourad Rais, Mohamadia, Bab Ezzouar, Dar El Beida and Bordj El Kiffan then expanded to other communes later.

“YASSIR is the new chauffeured car rental service that will allow you, your future partner, to receive on your smartphone requests for transport of several customers nearby. YASSIR tells you the places of departure and destination. It tells you the price of the service. It provides you with the shortest and least congested path,” the firm announced.

Uber is seen to be more expensive, hence the reason the entrepreneur launched his own taxi company. Algeria, a country with a large population is in demand of public transport, preferably the public opts to be driven to places such as meetings and other events rather than driving with their own cars.
Currently Yassir is targeting drivers with cars registered after 2007 within the ten districts of Algeria. Its success will depend on reduced wait times; ride costs, the condition of the cars and the attitude to driver partners.
