Drum roll! The Ethiopian Ministry of Health and the United States Agency for International Development, USAID plans to roll out a $63 million Digital Health Project in Ethiopia. The project will help combat health challenges in the country.

Guess what? In a bid to boost Nigeria’s data offering, Airtel plans to procure an additional 10MHz spectrum in Nigeria.

Next on the Big5 Daily, MTN South Africa entered a strategic partnership with Ericsson to commercialize 5G technology in the country. Ericsson will supply the equipment needed in preparation towards its launch of the project between 2020 to 2023. 

Sadly, after 7 months of debuting its bus-hailing service, OPay has suspended its operation in Nigeria. This is as a result of incessant harassment of riders by officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, otherwise known as Agberos.

Finally, Google plans to launch official bank accounts for its users in 2020. Tagged Google Cache, the account will capitalize on Google Pay services while capitalizing on commercial banks.
