Nigeria’s TaxiTV secures seed funding from Beta.Ventures… the advertising technology startup has gotten an undisclosed amount of funding in a seed round led by Beta.Ventures as it looks to scale its product, expand to other cities and improve its sales execution.

Still in Nigeria. First Hardware Innovation Hub, AlphaHUB launched… the innovation centre is dedicated to pushing for research and development in hardware and embedded system technology. Established in Kaduna State Nigeria, the hub will provide training, support and co-working space for budding entrepreneurs interested in the hardware development in Nigeria and Africa at large.

Another big one! Google has been hit with a record-breaking €4.3 billion ($5 billion) fine by EU regulators for breaking antitrust laws. The European Commission says Google has abused its Android market dominance in three key areas. This is a pretty huge fine for the Tech giants – a record breaking fine, different from the $2.7 billion fine from the EU last year over manipulated search results. Let’s see if Google would be able to pull up a successful appeal.
