Kenya’s blockchain and artificial intelligence taskforce has recommended a digital asset registry and a digital currency for the country…The digital asset registry will enable small enterprises to have alternative sources of funding other than the traditional banks. Well, we believe this is a right peg in a right hole for the country so, the government shouldn’t waste time in adopting the recommendation.

Morocco’s UnitedCoin Launches ICO for Multi-Currency Banking System… the start-up has launched an initial coin offering (ICO) in an ambitious bid to raise US$250 million for its multi-currency banking system.

The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) has announced the Southern African finalists for its annual Innovating Justice Challenge. The Innovating Justice Challenge seeks out and supports those who are working on solutions to help people prevent or resolve their most pressing justice needs.

Part of Google’s cloud-computing service went down yesterday which led to the temporary failure of some popular applications that rely on the technology giant, including Snapchat and Spotify. We hope the issue has been resolved.

Microsoft and Walmart team up to take on Amazon… the American multinational retail corporation announced that it is establishing a strategic partnership with Microsoft to “accelerate its digital transformation” in retail.
