Neyne Breast prosthetics is an invention of South African med-tech start up- iMed Tech, that provides a variety of 3D printed prostheses across multiple skin tone types for mastectomy patients.

Founded by Nneile Nkholise, the company aims to fill the increasing demand for prosthetics in South Africa by deploying technology to produce high-quality products that meet the user needs at an affordable rate.

The invention was birthed from Ms. Nkholise’s Master’s research on the applications of Additive manufacturing in manufacturing facial prosthesis.

Her desire was to make an impact that goes beyond academic research work to further establish a business service that makes a social impact in the lives of many.

Technologies used in the production process are Prosthesis Development, 3D CAD Technology, and Additive Manufacturing.

Speaking about the technology adopted, Ms. Nkholise describes it to enable efficient product design, production of custom-made design for skin and texture variants and reduces production time with high-quality standards to meet demands.
