More than 80 percent of all vehicles sold by the German carmaker, Porsche will be electric by the end of this decade, Chief Executive Oliver Blume said in an interview.

The German carmaker will continue to sell its 911 model with internal combustion engines.

While capable of handling synthetic fuels, Oliver Blume said, this will include fully electric and hybrid models.

The Taycan model, which was launched in 2019, is the new flagship electric vehicle.

The carmaker said earlier that about half of the cars it sells are planned to be electric by 2025.

Porsche will spend $18.07billion over the next five years in the electrification of its cars.
