Telecom Equipment & Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) is pleased to inform you regarding organisation of 3rd edition of Indo –Africa ICT Expo 2017 in conjunction with IT & Telecom Summit from 6th -7th September 2017 at Eko Hotel & Convention Centre, Lagos, Nigeria with support from Department of Commerce, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, and NASSCOM. This event is subsidized under MAI scheme of Department of Commerce, Government of India.
Nigeria has become Africa’s largest ICT market, accounting for 29% of internet usage in Africa. The ICT sector accounted for 8% of national GDP and 35% of the cumulative FDI between 2010 and 2015. In 2015, Nigeria had more than 140.8 million active telecoms subscribers, a considerable increase from 127.6 million at the end of 2013. Mobile GSM subscribers account for 98.37% of the total number of telecom subscribers. The mobile sector is dominated by four GSM operators: MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Globacom and Etisalat Nigeria. MTN, which has been operating since 2001, holds the largest share of the mobile market, accounting for 44% of total mobile subscribers. Nigeria’s overall telecoms capacity is relatively high – a number of high-capacity submarine cables enter the shores of the country – and most indicators point to continued expansion.
The event should bring together over 100 companies from India and Africa for the conference and exhibition and attract over 2000 visitors for the exhibition. This mega event will IT & Telecom stakeholders from Africa to Network, Meet and Plan fulfilment of their economic dream in cooperation with Indian ICT Industry.
To benefit Indian companies, we have also increased the geographical area of this event. This year we are targeting not only Nigeria but also some of the nearby countries of Nigeria and inviting at Government level delegation from Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Burundi, Madagascar, Mozambique etc . Participating companies will also have opportunity to interact with Buyers of all African participating companies and have pre scheduled meeting with them.
