Andela Officially Launches Remote Centre in Egypt, New Automotive Hub to Provide 6,700 Jobs for South Africans and More

Big news! Africa’s tech giant, Andela has launched a remote Centre located in Cairo, Egypt. Andela’s senior developers will work remotely from Cairo, its first remote centre in Africa. Egypt was chosen as one of the tech-driven countries in North Africa, with a digital transformation strategy that aims to increase the GDP contribution of ICT to 5% over the next year.

Drum roll! A new automotive hub tagged ‘Tshwane Automotive hub has been launched in South Africa. The hub will provide 6,700 jobs to South Africans. The automotive-based in the city of Tshwane, will position the city as an automotive city and attract new automotive component manufacturer to South Africa.

Guess what? Google took to a blog post to announce the launch of its 2020 Google for Startup Accelerator program. The accelerator program will focus on startups with innovative ideas for sustainable development and climate challenges.

Also, Rwanda has revealed plans to digitize its transport system. Tagged Generation 2, the system aims to revolutionize the face of its public transport through higher IT usage, improved route planning, better vehicle mixes and a strict scheduled service.

Finally, the professional social platform, LinkedIn has launched a new global feature to support freelancers and small business owners on its platform. The feature called ‘Open for Business’ was unveiled yesterday in Dubai.
