Next, on the Big 5 Daily, Jack Ma Foundation has shortlisted the top 10 finalists for its Africa Business Heroes Award. Ghana’s Abdulai Dasana, Nigeria’s Oluwasoga Oni, Uganda’s Naluyima Emma, and Senegal’s Chebet Lesan Brigthgreen are some of the names shortlisted.
In South Africa, Telkom is planning to launch a local streaming platform for SA in November 2020. Dubbed TelkomONE, the video service will air a variety of locally produced series, music, and education shows.
The 2020 Sustainability Report shows that Safaricom contributes 6% of Kenya’s GDP last year. Also in this report, Safaricom served 35.6 million customers and 142,000 residential homes connected to its fibre-optic network.
GSMA Africa has partnered with CcHUB to build a Pan-African IoT community platform. The community, dubbed ‘Building Wakanda’ will grow the IoT ecosystem of Africa.
