Paga Hits Milestone of 10 Million Customers, to Launch Cloud Payroll Business Soon

Nigerian mobile money start-up, Paga has hit another milestone of 10 million unique users just after it announced 9 million users 2 months ago. The start-up also announced another cloud payroll business that will be launching soon.

Started in 2012 by Tayo Oviosu, with an aim to take advantage of the cash build-up in the Nigeria’s system and to create a means whereby financial services are available to all. It works across several platforms including online and via SMS.

“Today, Paga is squarely tackling mobile payments and banking the unbanked/underbanked, and our sister company, a cloud payroll business, is launching soon… We set out on this journey to make it simple for people to access and use money. Our motivation is simple — we want to make life possible for everyone.” Tayo Oviosu said in a statement.

Paga has created over 10,000 jobs through its 17,000 agents who hire staff to run their stores since it commenced operations in six years.
