Applications are Ongoing for 2019 FbStart Accelerator Program Season 2

FbStart Accelerator is the brainchild of Facebook and CcHub. It is a 6-month research and mentorship opportunity for innovative teams to apply advanced technologies to produce creative solutions. This cohort is opened for startups from Ghana and Nigeria to apply.

This edition will be made up of 12 startup teams that will receive $20000 equity fund, mentorship from Facebook and CcHub, access to industry experts, $16000 in product credits and more. Startups will also get access to Deep learning sessions and an opportunity to participate in the Innovation Showcase Week.

Facebook Startups and Developers Programme Manager, Kendra Nachi said that the program has been extended to Ghana to empower innovators and upcoming entrepreneurs. Last year, the flagship accelerator accepted 15 startups and student teams from Nigeria. The graduating team raised a total sum of $400 000 in investment and grants on April 12th, 2019.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are open to startup teams with existing products OR Students (BSc, MSc, or Ph.D.) with working prototypes or technical know-how.

Applicants will be required to leverage technology to produce a product using either Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Data Science, or Augmented/Virtual Reality.
