Bosch Awards $30000 to Winners of Africa Mobility Pitch Competition

Bosch has awarded a total of $30000 to the winners of its Africa Mobility Pitch competition. In addition to the fund, the winners will participate in Bosch’s accelerator and access its facilities and laboratories.

 

 

The German multinational engineering and technology company had received 222 entries from 27 countries and shortlisted 11 startups for its smart mobility pitch contest. Hello Tractors from Nigeria and BuuPass from Kenya were the two startups to make it to the finals.

Each startup received the sum of $15000 and a three-month accelerator program from Bosch. Some of the other shortlisted startups include;

 

 

Hello Tractor was founded in 2015 by Jehiel Oliver as an agritech platform that connects smallholder farmers with tractors for logistics in sub-Saharan Africa.

 

BuuPass, on the other hand, was founded in 2016 by Wycliffe Omandi to provide online ticketing solutions that ensure the seamless and convenient movement of commuters in East Africa.
