Celltel Networks Partners Ed &Co Capital Limited to Support Ghana Smart Cities Project

Celltel Networks LTD, a tech company based in Ghana has partnered with ED & Co Capital Partners Limited to support Ghana Smart Cities Project. The project will commence in the second quarter of 2020. 

The move towards building smart cities in Ghana began in 2019 when the government announced its smart cities projects. The project is worth $500 million and has gained traction from diverse tech companies. The partnership between Celltel and Ed & Co Capital Partners Limited is also part of the support for the smart city project.

The two companies will join efforts to install a nationwide Wi-Fi Infrastructure in Ghana. They will also provide affordable smart devices that will enable citizens to connect seamlessly to the internet from their homes.  

Also included in the partnership agreement is that Ed & Co Capital Partners Limited will put plans in place for clients of the smart cities to seamlessly pay-up internet subscription charges. 

The Founder and Executive Chairman of Celltel Networks, Prince Kofi Kludjeson has applauded the new partnership. He noted that the company is at the final stage of assembling the Wi-Fi plant within the free Zones- Enclaves at Tema.

The plant will be used to assemble affordable internet devices for Ghanaians. It will also provide job opportunities for several youths.
