CLOUD-BASED SOFTWARE FROM GHANA EXPANDS INTO SWEDEN - Tech Gist Africa

A TECHNOLOGY THAT IS IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY IN THE SHIPPING INDUSTRY

A cloud-based software developed in Ghana that easily tracks freight consignments from one port to the next, has expanded into Europe, setting up a new office in Sweden. The move, according to the company’s CEO comes with the advantage of aligning the service with major shipping centers in the world. This makes sense since Europe is the heart of the global shipping industry with powerhouses like Maersk, headquartered in Denmark, Switzerland and France. How does the software work and what are its opportunities for growth?

Vestracker, as the application is called is start-up backed by the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) which also has a campus in Ghana. The software has a couple unique features that allow it to monitor consignments from multiple shipping lines, communicate with customers through the in-built customer relationship management tool and much more.

Vestracker seeks to solve the issue of delays in transport, damages in consignments and additional costs borne by shipping companies that do not have updated technology. For this purpose, the application also has a document management and archiving system built-in to help do-away with traditional filing systems that are not efficient.

What do you think about this application? Is it an innovation that will revolutionize the shipping industry? Let us know what you think about Vestracker and its expansion in the comments below.
