Facebook has introduced a new company logo for its brand. The logo is meant to differentiate the parent company Facebook from the Facebook app and other sub-apps of the company.

Facebook started 15 years ago as a single app but has since grown to offer several social media platforms that connect people globally. This birthed the need to differentiate the company from the apps.

The new Facebook logo makes use of GIFs that display different colors to represent the brands owned by the company. The GIF colors include Blue for Facebook, Green for WhatsApp, and Pinkish orange for Instagram.

The new logo seeks to create a clear brand image that will fit perfectly to the social app environment and support the stories shared on the various platforms.

The Chief Marketing Officer Facebook, Antonio Lucio noted that the company previously considered changing its parent company’s logo but decided against it since it might give birth to misconceptions.

The new company logo will appear on all Facebook-owned apps including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Oculus, Workplace, Portal, and Calibra in a few weeks.
