Farmcrowdy Commits to Promote #ZeroHunger on World Food Day

On World Food Day -Wednesday 16th October 2019, Nigeria-based agritech company, Farmcrowdy showed commitments towards ensuring #ZeroHunger. The employees visited, educated and fed the students of Victoria Island Nursery and Primary School in Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos State.

October 16th is annually recognized as World Food Day. The theme of this year, “Our Actions are Our Future, Healthy Diets for a #ZeroHunger World.” To show their commitment to the theme, Farmcrowdy created awareness and encouraged students to contribute their quota to tackle global food insecurity.

The visit was led by Farmcrowdy’s cofounder, Temitope Omotolani. During the visit, students were educated on agricultural practices and their role towards achieving #ZeroHunger. Temitope told the pupils about World Food Day, the importance of balanced diets and actions to take for a healthier future. Students were informed about dietary choices and how it affects their bodies.

The staff present also engaged students in aerobics and gave them tips on actions to achieving #ZeroHunger. The team explained that drinking enough water and eating properly balanced diets is significant to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Farmcrowdy also announced that its production arm has obtained a Veterinary Health Certificate for the Trade of Meat. The certificate ensures that meat processing is carried out under safe and hygienic conditions.
