G-Core Labs, an international cloud and edge solutions provider have launched a new interface point for its network infrastructure in Johannesburg South Africa. The launch will make it offer internet servers to local users in South Africa.
Internet connectivity has grown tremendously in Africa over the past few years. About 525 million Africans are connected to the internet. About 56% of South Africans are connected to the web. Therefore, it is no news when Dmitry Samoskin, Vice President of G-Core Labs Vice said that South Africa thrives in the development of internet technologies.
It is the continuous growth and expansion of internet usage and services in the country that spurred the launch of G-Core Lab’s Point-of-Presence.

The Point-of-Presence (PoP) is located in a certified Tier III-class data centre in Johannesburg where it offers an Internet speed access of 200mbps to dedicated servers. Samoskin also noted that the launch will make his company provide fast internet servers that will aid content delivery to local users.
The company servers are protected by DDoS attacks via its technology for intelligently filtering network traffic. The launch of the new PoP in South Africa increases G-Core Labs’ POP presence to 51.
Before its PoP launch in South Africa, G-Core Labs has launched a public cloud service through its Luxembourg data centre. It will expand internationally through these data centres.
