The Ghanaian government is testing a digital census program as they gear up for their decennial census come March 2019. The program has been estimated to cost about $84 million. The Ghanaian government seeks to address the need for a national Identity system.
The Swedish Caller ID and spam blocking App, ‘Truecaller’ has launched a free voice calling feature. They plan to leverage the feature to offer a cheaper alternative to local calls via mobile data and Wi-Fi coverage. The call feature is available for Android users and will soon be available for IOS.

Nigerian fintech company, Kudimoney is now Kuda! The company re-branded after obtaining a license to operate a Microfinance from the Central Bank of Nigeria. They plan to use this opportunity to offer a no-fee, full-service digital bank, void of excessive charges. The bank will remain at a pre-launch phase until the third quarter of 2019.
Mubawab—a Dubai EMGP owned real estate portal based in Morocco, has acquired Jumia House in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. They intend to boost position as the leading real estate website in North Africa to meet the needs of over 90 million people in the Maghreb real estate market.
