Google has officially launched its first developers’ hub in Nigeria. This space in Lagos seeks to foster further collaboration among developers in Africa.
Google’s activities in Africa have increased in recent times. The tech giant seeks to penetrate the vast Africa tech market. Google has launched several programs, such as its Google Launchpad Accelerator program in Nigeria. Hence, the launch of the hub will serve as part of its effort to support the growing tech community in Africa.
Impact Hub designed the Google Launchpad Space while Spacefinish brought in an innovative touch to incite creativity in Developers.

The Head of Operation Launchpad Accelerator Africa, Onajite Emerhor, noted that the hub is part of Google’s commitment to strengthen the African tech ecosystem.
Also, the Google Country Director, Juliet Ehimuan, has noted that the hub is a means for Google to support developers across Africa. It will build upon Google’s commitment to training 100,000 developers across Africa. The space also backs the launch of the developer’s merchant support on Google Play Store. This will make it possible for developers to earn money from building apps.
The hub will house the Google Launchpad Accelerator program in Africa, support developer meetups, and host women in tech events. It is free off-charge to Google’s partner, young entrepreneur, and digital training programs.
