Popular search engine company, Google has revealed that it will be shutting down Google Hire — its job search tool which was launched two years ago, on the 1st of September 2020. The announcement was revealed via a Google Support document.
In 2017, Google Hire was in a bid to simplify the hiring process. It was launched with a workflow that was integrated into Google’s G Suite; Search, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, etc. The product helped businesses to search for applicants, scheduling interviews and to also providing feedback about possible hires. The product’s price varied from $200 to $400 a month.
According to the document, the decision to shut down was a tough one. The document noted that although Google Hire has been successful, the company plans to channel its resources to other products in the Google Cloud portfolio. Google also leveraged the document to thank its customers, champions, and advocates who supported them all through.

Google Hire will be supported by Google until it is terminated. However, it will not charge users services after they pay their next bill. The shutdown will also not affect a user’s G Suite agreement.
With this latest development, Google Hire will become the latest Google product to be shut down after the exit of Google Buzz, Google Friend Connect and Google +. We hope these shutdowns do not have users questioning the company’s integrity.
