Huawei has cancelled the product launch of its new PC due to the ban placed on it by the US government. The Chinese tech giant who planned to unveil its new laptop this week had to indefinitely postpone the launch due to the sanction that blocked its access to Microsoft’s Windows Operating System and Intel’s processors.
According to CNBC, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer division told them that the Matebook series scheduled for launch this week has been put on hold. Richard said they cannot ‘supply the PC’. However, when asked if the laptop would be launched later, he replied that it depends on how long the Entity List will last. He also confirmed that if they remain on the list for a long time, then the laptop will not be launched.

Since the blacklist, Huawei has been trying so hard to control the effects of the entity list by stockpiling key components and building its own operating system. Richard Yu reportedly revealed that their OS will be launched in China, later in 2019.
This blacklist is due to an entity list released in May 2019 that banned Huawei from importing all US software and hardware technologies. Due to this ban, Google cut ties with the Chinese tech giant, banning it from using its Android-enabled software. Facebook recently stopped the pre-installation of its apps on Huawei devices. Huawei has continued to ink new deals with foreign organizations like the AU.
