INTRODUCING VIDEO STREAMING FROM SOUTH AFRICA’S DISCOVER DIGITAL

DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT ON DEMAND (DEOD)

Digital Entertainment on Demand (DEOD) is a new product from South African on-demand solutions provider, Discover Digital. The product gives customers access to an array of internet channels and content Fidelity on their smart phones. Discover Digital is set to launch DEOD soon. Customers will be able to access the service either on a subscription basis or via pay-per view. Subscriptions start at a low rate of 49 South African rands. When they subscribe, customers gain access to the latest box office hits, global news channels such as BBC, on demand TV series and music videos amongst other content.

Discover Digital ran the video streaming service, VU, of MTN. The service was shut down unfortunately on the 3rd of May. This new service, DEOD, faces competition in South Africa from Netflix and ShowMax of Naspers.
