Microsoft startups initiative, ‘Microsoft ScaleUp’ has revealed that it supported 18 startups in 2019. The support was given to startups of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), the Middle East and North Africa.
Microsoft ScaleUp is an initiative of Microsoft Incorporation. The program formerly dubbed Microsoft Accelerator is designed for Series A startups and offers access to sales, marketing and technical support to this startup. It also offers an 8-12 months programme that provides startups with access to world-class technology and mentorship.

Some of the startups that emerge in 2019 Microsoft ScaleUp includes
Finbox, a comprehensive financial intelligence platform, AI tech firm Paanini, Machine focused Linear Square and Whizplace a wireless communication solution provider.
The 18 startups selected offered fintechs, Blockchain, healthtech and IoT services and were in the product development stage. The startup will, thus, leverage Microsoft’s global outlook and enterprise to penetrate the Africa markets. The startups will also participate in the Microsoft co-sell programme.
The Country Head Microsoft for Startups-MENA and SAARC, Lathika Pai noted the startups in the region are drawing great attention. This prompted its support via the Microsoft Scaleup Programme.
Since inception, the Microsoft ScaleUp programme has shaped several startups to become fit for the global market. The programme not only offers the startup funds but gives them opportunities to leverage Microsoft partners’ network for business growth.
