Nokia and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have partnered to boost digital literacy for pupils living in disadvantaged areas in Kenya. Both girls and physically challenged children will be issued “Accessible Digital Textbooks” to learn digital skills.
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission in Nigeria, has issued a final order to Multichoice Nigeria to review its tariff. The order was issued due to the Pay TV’s failure to comply with the alleged mutual agreement on tariff review for DSTV and GOTV.
Pan African tech hub and innovation centre network in Africa – AfriLabs has added 27 new hubs to six African countries. This addition totals its hubs in Africa to 158 with reach to 45 countries in Africa. The news hubs were added to 12 African cities of Guinea, Mauritius, South Sudan, Libya and Botswana.
The African Development Bank (AFDB) has identified five African countries as pilots for its Entrepreneurship Lab (E-Lab) project. The project aims to provide young innovative entrepreneurs with access to finance, technical assistance, and broader ecosystem support. These will be achieved through incubators, accelerators, seed funding and others.
IBM, an American information technology company, partnered with Witwatersrand University South Africa to expand their Quantum computing program to Africa. IBM will leverage this partnership to extend its program to 15 ARUA (African Research Universities Alliance) universities.
