Popular Browser Opera Set to Launches On-demand Motorcycle ‘ORide’

Norwegian’s software company ‘Opera’ is set to launch its on-demand motorcycle ride ‘ORide into the Nigerian market. The software company that is famous for its browser, slated the launch of ORide for the 27th of May 2019.

The company first announced the idea on their Facebook page earlier in May 2019. They, however, didn’t leave the full details of the new service. They tested the ride for a while and announced weeks after the date of their launch.

ORide will join the likes of Max, Safe Boda and Gokada in the on-demand bike market. The company couldn’t have come earlier, considering that there is a huge demand for the service. ORide will leverage this to provide affordable and effective means of bypassing Lagos traffic. Users will be able to request ORide via their app. The startup plans to excite users with free coupons of up to N2530.

Opera recently announced its flagship Fintech company in Africa ‘OPay’ has gotten over 20,000 agents. The company also announced its $100 million fund investment that is aimed at Africa’s digital future. They will leverage the investment to develop digital services that will boost Africa’s digital inclusion. They clearly stated that they will invest $40 million in boosting Nigeria’s digital inclusion.
