SafeBoda has launched a food delivery service arm for its business in Uganda. The launch came as part of its recent App update and recent launch in Nigeria.

SafeBoda is a ride-hailing company based in Uganda that seeks to modernize informal transportation through its bikes in Africa. The ride-hailing startup has about 80,000 riders and offers its service in Uganda but has since expanded to Kenya and Nigeria.

The food delivery service will make SafeBoda compete holistically with Jumia food that controls the food delivery market. It will also compete with OFood and other independent vendors in Nigeria and Kenya.

The food delivery service section of the app will feature diverse street vendors and local food restaurants in Uganda. Images of meal and menu will also be available on the platform.

Users can order their meal by clicking on the food option. Proceed to Order Food to get the meal icon where they can add to the chart. The new update also gives the option for cashless payment and on delivery cash payment.
