Injini— Africa’s first Edtech incubator and seed investment program based in South Africa, has announced the list of startups selected for its 3rd Cohort. This cohort comprises of 8 edtech startups from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and Tanzania.

The acceleration cohort is a four-month program through which Injini grants all participating startups access to funding, support from industry experts and skilled business mentors. The SA based Hub selects 8 startups every 6 months to join the cohort.
The program will also provide the selected startup’s access to $7000 in grants. The most promising startup from the cohort stands a chance to secure an equity investment worth over $70,000.

The first phase of the accelerator is already ongoing and will run till July 2019 in Cape Town. The program features workshops on strategy, pitching, and branding, after which all selected startups will return to their selected countries, with continuous support. The final stage of the program will begin in September 2019.
The startups include Otrac, an e-learning software for web and mobile applications. It is a learning platform for health practitioners. They have the privilege to choose any course of their choice and learn remotely. Traindemy– also Nigerian, is an online learning platform that lets people acquire vocational skills.
The other six startups include; South Africa’s textbooks marketplace Quillo and developer training service Zaio, Zambia’s agricultural education platform Agricomm Media and computer-based adaptive learning programme Smartzed, Kenya’s student engagement platform Swaiba as well as Tanzanian student training service MyJobPass.
