Tunisian ICT Instructors and Students Receives Awards from Huawei

Eight Tunisian students and instructors of the ICT Academy have been awarded by the Chinese tech giant, Huawei. The awards were part of the event organized to honour the participants of Seed for the Future 2019 programme and Huawei ICT Academy.

The Seed for the Future program is a global Corporate Social Responsibility program of Huawei. It seeks to develop local ICT talents, enhance knowledge transfer and promote a greater understanding of the Telco sector. The programme also improves and encourages regional participation in the digital community.

General Director Huawei Tunisia, Zhang Qian said that the award is an investment into the ICT profession. It is also a means for cultural exchange and collaboration between Tunisia and China.

He revealed that at least 10 ICT engineering students from Tunisia are sent to China yearly through the Seeds for the Future programme.

In the past 5 years of the program, the company has sent 55 ICT Tunisian students to China through the help of Tunisia Universities.

Currently, Huawei had signed 47 agreements with major Tunisian Universities and is in perpetual interaction with the student engineers.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian Minister for Education, Hatem ben Salem also commended the effort of the tech company. The program will help upskill future engineers and improve the skills of participants.

So far, about 5000 students have benefited from the Huawei Seed for the Future programme across 108 countries.
