Vodacom Tanzania invests $1.6 Billion on 4G Coverage across Tanzania

Vodacom Tanzania PLC—a corporate connectivity and telecommunications provider that provides affordable and reliable connectivity, has launched a Supa Network campaign that aims to put Tanzania’s informed on the quality and benefits of its network. The company consequently invested the sum of $1.6 billion on a technology that will see to 4G coverage across the country.

Vodacom Tanzania is notable for its 4G download speed of about 27 Mbps. The telecom reaches up to 90% of the Tanzanian populace with its voice, data and mobile money services. Vodacom leverages its superior network technology to provide its subscribers with speed, connectivity, and reliability.

According to Hisham Hendi, Vodacom Tanzania Plc’s Managing Director said the company has invested in communication infrastructure that will enable network coverage across the urban and rural areas of the country. Citing that they are committed to ensuring that Tanzania is connected on a global scale, via their investment and expansion strategies.

He noted that they invested over $1.6 billion (171.4 billion shillings) to expand 4G coverage in major Tanzanian cities and improve the quality of their network. This enables them to transform the lives of Tanzanians through technology.

Vodacom’s Commercial Business Unit Director, Linda Riwa noted that customers can experience this new capacity, by subscribing daily to their special bundle called BongelaBando, which offers voice and data. They can subscribe by dialing *149*01#, selecting Intaneti or Cheka. It offers 1GB for 1000Tsh and 300 minutes for 1000tsh respectively between 12 am and 5 pm daily.
