How Nownow Aims to Change the Face of Banking in Nigeria

Hundreds of Nigerians, both banked and unbanked, can now access free mobile transacting with the launch of the NowNow payment solution in Nigeria.

Developed by Contec Global, NowNow allows people living in Nigeria to pay bill, transfer funds to bank account and buy airtime & Data, and pay bills in Nigeria using NowNow App.

NowNow will help realise financial inclusion for emerging markets, and also disrupt the current status quo in the financial services.

With over 180 million Nigerians dispersed across 36 states of the country, there isn’t a speck of doubt that a huge number of Nigerians are still underserved by the (number of banks.)

This being evident in over-crowded banking halls and long ATM queues. Simple transactions such as money transfers and payments would delay the whole day, if not more. No apology is enough for the number of times the bank’s network has failed or the ATM could no longer dispense cash when it got to your turn or the bank had to close despite the queue because the time had clocked 4pm.

This solution comes in the form of the NowNow mobile app, which users can download for free. They then fund the app either by cash at NowNow Partner Banks, with a debit card or with NowNow agents, which can then be used to perform various online transactions in Nigeria. All users who buy airtime and data subscription qualify to receive CashBack rewards.

Most convenient about the solution is that users only need to supply their name, email address and phone number in order to register on the app and do not need a bank account.

Now, through the NowNow app, transactions can be performed in real-time, safely and securely from your comfort zone. This naturally also gives the sender control over what his expenses.

It is exciting to know the massive impact this product will have on the day-to-day lives of Nigerians especially the unbanked Nigerians. Especially those who are so reliant on monetary support from their relatives who are not within their proximity.
