MEST Opens Applications for Its 2020 Class

The Pan-African training program which also doubles as a seed fund and incubator; Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) has started receiving applications for its 2020 entrepreneurial training programme in Accra, Ghana.

MEST was launched 2008 and it provides seed fund and incubator for technology entrepreneurs in Africa. MEST also provides critical skills training in software development, business and communications.

The Application is open till February 8, 2019 and it will offer successful applicants in-depth training and mentorship, access to a global network and the opportunity to build the next generation of global software companies.

“Our goal at MEST is to enable entrepreneurs in Africa to build scalable businesses – not just apps,” said MEST managing director Aaron Fu.

“One of the ways we look to do that is through the significant Pan-African diversity in our program, which offers our EITs a strong network and a deeper understanding of problems and markets across the continent, from day one.”

Successful applicants of the programme will undergo training by global experts, including extensive hands-on project work and mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, CEOs and internationally-recognised executives from Silicon Valley, Europe and Africa.

The course will culminate in an investor pitch, and the opportunity to receive seed funding and to enter one of the MEST incubators in Accra, Lagos, Cape Town, and soon, Nairobi.

Eyram Tawia of Leti Arts, Kena Amoah of Kudobuzz, Florence Toffa of Mobile Web Ghana and, Kelvin Nyame and Rashad Seini of MeQasa have all graduated from the past MEST programme.
