We have news that AirtelTigo the second largest network in Ghana partnered Huawei Technologies on a $30 million network upgrade project. They plan to leverage the project to grant their customers access to the swift internet experience. The designed in phases and will run from June 2019 through October 2019 in the greater Accra region.

Cisco an American IT and networking company, is celebrated the establishment of 200 Networking Academies in Nigeria. They also announced their partnership with Global Citizen to join the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development and ending extreme poverty by 2030. Interesting development!

Ten startups have been selected to join the UAE and Africa to join the Global Business Forum (GBF) Mentorship Program. The startups include; UAE– Evolvin Women, ORENDA+Bloom, Tuitify, Designhubz, Pixel House and Africa; FarmGate Africa, Quip.link, Complete Farmer, Engineering Hub Ltd, and RideSafe. The selection will foster cross-border cooperation between Africa and the UAE. Great initiative, don’t you think so?

Jumia has launched a delivery subscription service ‘Jumia Prime’ in Nigeria. The service will offer Jumia customers access to unlimited free delivery. The service is exclusive to Lagos and Abuja residents. The subscription service will operate on a monthly model. A customer will be able to purchase up to 3 months subscription.

Finally, American shared workspace company, WeWork is expanding to Cape Town, South Africa. The new office will be capable of housing 590 members. The company plans to launch the new office alongside its Johannesburg branch during the fourth quarter of 2019.
