Naspers to List Consumer Internet on Euronext Stock Exchange, Gartner Q1 2019 Report Shows a Global Decline of Smartphones Sales and More

Naspers a South African broad-based multinational internet and media group, has announced their intentions to list on the Euronext Stock Exchange in the Netherlands. They plan to list 27% of their new global consumer internet group (NewCo) via capitalization of shares. The listing is scheduled for the 17th of July 2019.

Uber announced on the 28th of May 2019 that they will be banning passengers below the average rating threshold. They released a community guideline that would give passengers information on how to boost their ratings. Riders will be notified severally before being banned permanently. The feature will be rolled out in the US and Canada with subsequent countries to follow.

KOKO Networks a smart commerce platform that produces and supplies hardware and software solutions in East Africa and India has launched KOKOpoints – a multipurpose access point that will serve financial, e-commerce and digital media needs.

Gartner — a trusted business advisor, Q1 2019 report has shown a decline in global smartphone sales by 2.7%. The report revealed that the sales of smartphones in the first quarter totalled 373 million units. It shows that the request for premium smartphones ranked lower than the request for basic smartphones.

South African mobile communications company Vodacom rolled out a service tagged ‘Mum & baby’ in 2017. The service supplies South African parents with verified information during and after pregnancy. This service recently grew to 1.4 million subscribers. It can be accessed via; SMS, educational articles, tutorials, videos, and tools like a due date calculator.
