Ghanaian government is easing the barriers of doing business in the country as it handed a 10-year tax holiday to the local car manufacturing firm, Kantanka Automobile. It also grants Kantanka a duty-free deal when they import materials for assembling and manufacturing purposes. The company’s CEO Kwadwo Safo Jnr in December said it has secured 13,000 orders from three African countries to help grow the local industry.


More automobile… Uganda’s minister of Science Technology and innovations, Elioda Tumwesigye said Uganda will have home-made solar powered buses plying on the roads of Kampala and Entebbe before the end of 2019. In 2014, Uganda Investment Authority authorised two companies- Kiira Motors Corporation of Makerere University College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology and China Engineering Limited- to start Car production in the country by 2018 but none has yet been produced.


In accordance with its mission to digitise the Kenyan Police Service, every police officer will now go through a compulsory six-month training on Information and Communication Technology. This is aimed at providing the officers with basic knowledge and skills to handle the newly launched automated information management system rolled-out across the country, says Fred Matiang’I Interior Cabinet Secretary.

On this app, easy activation of standing instructions, recurrent future payments, “Switch Card on/off option’’ which allows users to disable their cards temporarily if missing and re-enabling at the click of a button are featured. And finally, in the wake of one-month users’ complaint of inoperativeness on its website and social media handles, Nigerian online shopping start-up, DealDey has shut down operations. The company, which is known for offering users exclusive deals every single day probably shut down around the second week of December 2018 which was the time users last saw deals on its site and social media pages.
