CcHUB Africa — a technology-oriented center has partnered Google for Startup– a startup program to kick off its PitchdriveAsia tour. The tour which began on the 21st of August 2019, marks the second edition of CcHUB’s Pitchdrive tour. The duo will take ten selected African startups who leverages hardware and deep technology tools in their businesses, on a tour across five Asian cities.
The selected startups will have the opportunity to work with deep tech and hardware communities across Japan, Singapore, South Korea, China, and Hong Kong. They will have the opportunity to pitch, collaborate, partner and also source for potential investment opportunities, that will help boost their businesses.
According to Damilola Teidi, Director of Incubation at CcHUB, they have confirmed that there is a lot of interest from Asia in Africa. They also believe that there are opportunities for partnerships which will help strengthen the hardware and deep tech ecosystem in Africa.

The ten selected startups were selected from a pool of 200 applicants. they include;
Nigeria’s Gricd Frij, a cold chain technology for transportation of healthcare and agricultural produce; Casky– a Moroccan safety IoT device company; Rwandan’s AC Group– a transport solution company, Access Afya– a Kenyan primary healthcare social enterprise using technology to deliver affordable and effective health access; Ugandan CHIL AI Lab which leverages AI to improve cancer diagnostic services; and taeillo, a Nigerian furniture and design company which leverages on mixed reality to improve customer experience.
There is also; Tunisia’s Enova Robotics– a mobile robot development platform for security purposes; Flare, a Kenyan company that aggregates ambulance/emergency options for easy access; LIFI-LED, an Ivorian energy startup that provides electricity and internet connectivity to rural communities, and Nigeria’s Reliance HMO, which leverages technology to make health insurance accessible and affordable.
The tour will run from the 21st of August 2019 to the 8th of September 2019.
