TemTem, a ride-hailing startup based in Algeria has secured $4 million Series A round to diversify its product in the country. The startup will leverage the fund to scale up its marketing campaigns and recruit top talents. The round was led by Tell Venture Automotive and other undisclosed investors.

Founded in 2018 by Kamel Haddar, TemTem offers ride-hailing services to individuals and businesses in Algiers, Oran, and Constantine.

It offers ride-hailing services to the employees of over 150 companies and sends invoices at the end of every month. It currently employs a team of 40 and has served over 200,000 customers, with over 4,000 drivers. The startup plans to expand to 10 more cities in Alegria.

According to Kamel Haddar, the founder of TemTem “We are going to first and foremost focus on boosting growth by diversifying our products, scale up our marketing campaigns in particular with the help of a major telecom company, and recruit top talents. The goal is clear; to become the market leader.”

TemTem offers its drivers discounts, car insurance, after-sale service with car manufacturers, and different benefits for driver’s families.

Kamel said they do this because their drivers are the backbone of their business. “It is essential to value them and give them concrete perspectives in their daily lives. This is also why our partners and their families will soon be able to subscribe to dedicated health insurance.”
