For its Beta phase, OCar will be offering its services to new customers at N200 promo per ride. This poses major competition to Uber and Bolt on-demand ride-hailing service providers. OCar has started operating in Lagos State and will launch in other Nigerian cities in the coming weeks.

OCar joins OPay’s food delivery service – OFood, motorcycle hailing – ORide, tricycle – OTrike and marketing service – OLeads.

The new ride-hailing service can be accessed via the OPay mobile app. It will operate a third-party business model where partners can sign up their vehicles for on-demand ride-hailing services.

The car owner will have to register the car for verification and accreditation to be qualified as a partner driver. OPay will take 15% commission per ride and subsequently, 3% after a driver completes 20 trips within a week.
