Hey Guys,

The Big 5 Daily is ripe and ready to be read. Take a dive already!

Orange has partnered with NSIA Group to launch its mobile money service for Africa. Dubbed Orange Bank Africa, the new service will allow subscribers to borrow and access micro-credit services using their mobile phones.

Tech Hub Harare has selected 8 Zimbabwean startups for its virtual incubation programme. Over the 6 months, the programme will help startups to ideate and develop market fit products, as well as intensive business training. Cloud computing, business support, and a mentor will also be allocated to each.

Craft Silicon has invested $3 million to expand Little, its ride-hailing subsidiary. The startup will use the sum to pilot its app service in Accra, Ghana. During the expansion process, it will train and recruit drivers virtually.

Airtel Africa made the last headline in today’s Big 5. It partnered with Mukuru to facilitate Pan-African cross border money transfers in 12 African countries. Customers will now be able to send money across using their Airtel Money wallets.

Gradely, a Nigerian edtech startup has won the MEST Africa Nigeria Challenge, out of 9 startups that made it to the final stage. It will be joining eight other startups in the grand finale that will hold on the 12th of August 2020.

And so we call it a weekend. See you next week.
