Accelerex Ghana, a pan-African fintech firm, has reached a new milestone after the Bank of Ghana (BoG) issued it an enhanced Payment Service Provider (PSP) license under the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019. (Act 987). Accelerex Ghana is now the only fintech business in Ghana that offers physical e-payment devices, retailer acquiring, and agency banking solutions under the enhanced PSP category.

The move comes after the company recently received ISO 27001:2013 and PCI-DSS certifications, and it will provide the Ghanaian market with more electronic payment and transaction options through various platforms and channels.

“Through our continuous product innovation and impeccable attention to customer needs, the company has steadily emerged as the financial technology company of choice for Ghanaian businesses,” said Sebastian Yalley, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Accelerex Ghana.

“At Accelerex, standardization and enforcement continue to be the backbone of our operations across all branches in Africa,” he said.

We believe that receiving this license from the Bank of Ghana demonstrates our commitment to the Ghanaian market and lays the groundwork for the development of quick, safe, and convenient e-payment and digital transaction solutions for all customer segments.

We intend to use this as leverage to strengthen our current bank client relationships.

We are open to collaborating with other fintech firms to provide superior value to consumers in the same spirit of collaboration.”

Accelerex Ghana is eyeing the retail sector with its latest innovative products – RexPay and RexRetail – set to launch in Q2 of 2021, buoyed by this big milestone that allows the company to deliver electronic payment platforms and applications, agency banking, merchant payment collections, payment terminal management, and terminal aggregator management systems. These products will help the company expand its presence in Ghana and solidify its status as an e-payments pioneer.

RexPay is an online payment gateway that allows social media sellers and businesses to accept payments quickly, easily, and securely, even if they don’t have their own website.

Customers have a variety of payment options and can make purchases from anywhere. In less than five minutes, sellers will sign up for the RexPay platform and start accepting payments right away.

Retailers can simplify their daily operations with RexRetail, an all-in-one solution for small and medium-sized businesses. It’s an excellent inventory management, customer relationship management, and accounting tool. More significantly, RexRetail provides a monitoring and analytics platform to help business owners keep track of their company’s results.

Accelerex Ghana is a financial technology company that provides offline and online payment services to its target markets. It is part of the Accelerex Holdings Group, which also has operations in Nigeria and Kenya. Accelerex Holdings, the company’s parent, recently received a US$20 million investment from African Capital Alliance to help it create new products and grow into South Africa, Cote d’Ivoire, and Tanzania.

Accelerex plans to make its goods and services available to a variety of businesses in Ghana, with the aim of increasing financial technology and digital payment accessibility.
