The worldwide-known Seedstars world competition for early startups will hold its yearly Africa Summit in Maputo, Mozambique this year from December 11th to the 14th.
The Seedstars World competition has been hosting many events across Africa this year. Winners have already been chosen from Mozambique, South Africa, Tunisia, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
Those who will be attending this coming event include winners of local events, ecosystem players, mentors, investors, corporates, and other entrepreneurs.
Over 800 attendees will be brought together during this 3-day event. The event will start off with a boot camp for the startups who are participating, followed by an ecosystem tour and investor day, and finishing with a conference and pitch event that will be held on December 14th.
Claudia Makadristo, the regional manager for Seedstars in Africa, said that the program seeks to start at the very bottom with the promising startups that are lacking the necessary money to build themselves up and receive the credit they deserve.
With this goal of lifting startups in their early phases, the program has travelled globally to more than 88 different ecosystems this year alone.
Over 20 countries throughout Africa have also been chosen during these travels.
She continued to say, “We are very excited to be able to bring the entire network together in Mozambique later this year and together considered some of the opportunities of the continent and explore how technologies can rapidly improve the current status quo in emerging markets worldwide.”
