There have very rarely ever been any instances where the “Big Four” consultancy firms have swooped down to help startups. This is due to the fact many small businesses don’t have a budget.

The Nigerian startup is looking to bridge the gap between the Big Four consultancy firms and aspiring startups. The startup hopes that consultants will become willing to help clients complete major projects.

Project manager Jide Rotilu said, “At the same time, I had family members with startups who always asked me for assistance with strategy or business Processes transformation. In cases, where they needed tax advisory or accounting, I would ask friends in my office for their expertise. I saw that I could provide advisory services to them, and connect them to other consultants that had skills which I did not have.”

Rotilu’s observations led to the birth of the concept of TBCA. Rotilu desired to connect startups connect with veteran, professional consultants.

The first pilot project was run by the company back in 2016. Since then, Rotilu has completed several jobs for the benefit of startups.

He believes that startups have suffered too long without the access to proper and affordable guidance.

The consultancy firms will also benefit highly. Rotilu said, “due to seasonal projects, downtime, and staff attrition, many consulting firms find themselves in a position of running payroll even if there were no billable hours.”

TBCA is a self-funded startup that earns revenue by charging for every job that is booked through their platform. The startup makes a strong effort to help solve the issues consultancy firms face.

So far, the startup is operating in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. They do intend to spread further all throughout Africa, however.
