The second cohort of the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund for Africa grants $4 million to 60 different startups

For the second batch of the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund (BFF) for Africa, 60 qualified black-founded startups from across Africa have been selected.

They will share US$4 million in funding and support to help them scale their businesses. 

A six-month training program and access to a network of mentors will be provided to each of the selected startups to help them address the challenges that are specific to them. 

Twenty-three of the chosen recipients of the grants were Nigerians:

  1. Awabah
  2. Bookings Africa
  3. Clafiya
  4. Eden Life
  5. Estate Intel
  6. Flex Finance 
  7. Gamr
  8. Haul 247
  9. Healthtracka 
  10. HerVest
  11. Kyshi
  12. LifeBank
  13. Norebase
  14. OneHealth
  15. Pivo
  16. QShop
  17. Scrapays
  18. Shiip
  19. Spleet
  20. Stears  TERAWORK
  21. Topset Education
  22. Wellahealth

Three of the chosen recipients of the grants were from Cameroon:

  1. Bee
  2. COVA
  3. Healthlane

Three of the chosen recipients of the grants were from Ghana:

  1. Built
  2. KUDIGO
  3. Zuberi

One of the chosen recipients of the grants was from Senegal:

  1. Cauri Money

Twelve of the chosen recipients of the grants were Kenyans:

  1. Ajua
  2. BuuPass
  3. DohYangu
  4. FlexPay
  5. Keep IT Cool
  6. Leja
  7. Solutech
  8. Synnefa
  9. TIBU Health
  10. TopUp Mama
  11. Zanifu
  12. Zuri Health

Six of the chosen recipients of the grants were from Rwanda:

  1. Bailport
  2. BAG Innovation
  3. Exuus
  4. Kapsule
  5. PesaChoice
  6. Pindo

Four of the chosen recipients of the grants were from Uganda:

  1. ClinicPesa
  2. Easy Matatu
  3. Eversend
  4. Xente

Five of the chosen recipients of the grants were South Africans:

  1. Agrikool
  2. CreditAIs
  3. Mapha
  4. Rekisa
  5. Technovera 

One of the chosen recipients of the grants was from Botswana:

  1. Brastorne

Two of the chosen recipients of the grants were from Ethiopia:

  1. Garri Logistics
  2. ZayRide

Along with up to US$200,000 in Google Cloud credit, the 60 grantees will also receive non-dilutive prizes of between US$50,000 and US$100,000.
