Six businesses have been selected for the second cohort of the Fintech Incubation Programme, according to an announcement made by Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in partnership with Google, Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation, and Mojaloop Foundation.
Nine startups were selected for the program’s inaugural cohort, and they graduated with a demo day in July of this year.
Six startups were chosen to participate in the program’s second cohort after a careful assessment process.
The Fintech Incubation Programme is a component of the Fintech Innovation Programme, a group of growth-oriented initiatives created to hasten Rwanda’s digital transformation and promote a pan-African innovation ecosystem.
The six startups include:
Smart Ikigega – financial services for farmers’ platform.
Expensa – Expense management platform.
Gwiza – savings and investments platform.
Kayko – business management solution.
Hepta Pay – mobile money service.
SchoolNest Pay – school payments solution.
CcHub will assist the teams in achieving product stability and scalability, market preparation, and investment over the following three months.
By using Google’s tools and the Mojaloop platform, they’ll have access to guidance from experts in the industry.
During a demo day in December, the startups in this second cohort of the program will make presentations to investors.
The Fintech Incubation Programme is a three-month-long initiative aimed at helping tech startups who are creating solutions to broaden access to financial services.
