Tanzania Business Angel Investors Accelerator (TAA) is a training programme that aims to increase tech investment and startup growth in Tanzania.
It was developed by Serengeti Business Angels Network (SBAN), Ennovate Ventures, and UNCDF Tanzania.
Investing in early-stage startups in Tanzania and East Africa is the focus of Ennovate Ventures, a venture-building focused micro-fund, and SBAN, an investment platform that encourages angel investing in Tanzania, gives angel investors access to deal flow, educational materials, and networking opportunities.
With the help of UNCDF, which works to increase its development impact by forming relationships with other United Nations institutions and both public and private sector players.
To “revolutionise tech investment in Tanzania,” the three groups have joined forces to form the TAA.
“Tanzania has a vibrant startup ecosystem, but access to capital remains a major challenge,” said Rodrique Msechu, co-founder and network manager of SBAN. “The Tanzania Business Angels Accelerator programme will help to address this gap by training and supporting new angel investors. We are confident that the programme will play a vital role in boosting the growth of Tanzania’s startup ecosystem.”
As part of the programme, fifty Tanzanians with an interest in tech startups will receive the education, guidance, and practical experience necessary to launch their angel investing careers.
Included with SBAN’s broader goal of developing 1,000 Tanzanian and diaspora angel investors by 2026, this project is a step in the right direction.
