Lambada School, based in California has opened its doors for students looking to venture into software engineering in Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya and South Africa. This they offer in partnership with Paystack. The school offers an intensive, 9-month full stack software development training program, giving its students the opportunity to learn several programming languages- JavaScript, Python and C+ from the basics.

The school will allow its applicants go through school without initial tuition deposit. The students will however pay back a percentage of their income after they get a job. The school has a success story of over 1300 graduates with over 86% of them in the workforce.

Nigerian fintech firm, Paystack will leverage on the partnership to provide co-working spaces accessible to all applicants for reliable internet and electricity. All applicants will stand the chance of getting a job with Paystack and even Paystack merchants. Applicants hired by Paystack will not pay back the percentage required as it will be covered by Paystack.

However, all applicants that will be hired by another company will be paid back 10% of their income 5 years in a roll. This percentage will only be applicable only when they earn more than $50,000 a year. Applicants who never got employed, or don’t measure up to that level of income, will never pay a cent.

Intending applicants must:

Be a citizen of either Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

Fall within 18 to 35 years.

Be resident in Africa.

Be willing to commit to a full-time program.

Application for this opportunity is currently open until May 28th, 2019.

You can click here to apply.
